PEI

Best:

My favourite from the trip.  I saw this right after my card told me it was full. I found three I could delete, and so I had three cracks at this. Right after the shot, she smiled a little bit more, and I would have liked that one too.

Wolfville Photo Walk

Since I'd been struggling with having no idea how to work the camera, and I knew someone who is awesome at working the camera, and willing to talk slowly and use little words to explain it to me, we went out, and I learned. Hands on, follow along, test that theory. I'm not exactly awesome now, but I'm not longer just shooting in the dark.

Best:

I felt kinda excited when I saw this one on my view screen, so I went over to show her, and the one on her view screen was way better. Which goes to show that although you can minimize your awful in a day, you can't get the full on awesome that takes years to learn. That, and watching her decided what to shoot gave me a better appreciate for some of the shots photographers take.

Other:

The last two made the cut entirely because they were a solid demo of shutter speed, more than they were good stand alone photos. I wish I had taken one of the rose with everything in focus, because it would have made a good aperture demo.

Open Doors Halifax

We saw a whole bunch of cool things, definitely want to do it next year, but if I had had any idea how to work the camera, I think I would have gotten some great shots. As it was, I got a lot of terrible shots, and a few I liked.

Of the 40 or so testing setting shots of the dog I took, I like this one. I call it 'blinded by the light'

My poor spine. It was worth it, but took while to walk that angle out of my back.
