Raw

So, I've been shooting in Raw since I started with the SLR because I was told to. What it means, is I put the photos on my computer, save the ones I like as JPEGs, sort them into folders, and then edit the ones that are worth it. Basically, missing the entire point.

Anyway, the point in three photos:

 From the camera.
The rocks are better, but the sky became abdominal. Normally I would comprimise midway between the two, or gradient fade them into each other.
Random sliders moved around on the raw file. I think I'm done here.

I basically figured this out because I once accidentally opened a raw instead of clicking the jpeg beside it, and saw the extra window pop up in photoshop and thought to myself 'I'll explore that later'. Turns out, I should have explored that awhile ago.

Photography Road Trip Pt.5: Peggy's Cove

Photography Road Trip Pt. 4: Fisherman's Cove

Photography Road Trip Pt 3: Heritage Farm

Next up was Cole Harbour Heritage Farm. I'm more in love with my pictures, than the farm itself. To be fair, it was a nice farm with some neat exhibits we were too busy shooting to read, but it didn't hold up to the mental comparison to Ross Farm, and it was late on a hot day and the animals and staff were all tired. Free will donation is hard to beat though. I abused the heck out of using blur to emphasis focal points on this bunch, and I regret nothing, not even the one where the floor looks like it comes up to meet you, but your eyes go where they are supposed to.

Despite how much I'm not into abstract art, abstract photography is one of my favourite branches, and this one I managed to go far enough that I can't remember what it actually was. I have another shot slightly further out, but can't get it from that either. Either way, I think it's aesthetically pleasing, and so it stays.

There were still much noisier ones than this that did not make the cut.

My favourite part about these pictures is that they make me want to go paint something.
